From the moment our child first stepped into Aunty Christy’s piano studio at the age of five, our whole family was deeply touched by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. At that time, our child was shy, curious, and a little nervous, yet Aunty Christy greeted him in the gentlest way. Her presence was like a soft light, illuminating our child’s musical journey and, at the same time, bringing reassurance and warmth to us as parents.
Aunty Christy’s patience is the quality we treasure most on this journey. In every lesson, she communicates with our child calmly and kindly, breaking down challenges step by step, demonstrating repeatedly, and using encouraging words to help build confidence. She never rushes progress. Instead, she walks alongside the child through the rise and fall of rhythm and the subtle nuances of tone, until true understanding and natural expression emerge. Her warm voice and gentle manner have a remarkable ability to soothe emotional ups and downs, making our child feel respected, understood, and safe.
Her inclusiveness is like a vast ocean. Every child has a different pace and unique strengths, and Aunty Christy never measures them against a single standard. Instead, she takes time to discover each child’s individual musical potential. She encourages exploration of different musical styles, respects children’s preferences, and integrates musicianship and listening skills into technical training. Through her guidance, our child gradually learned to tell stories through music and to express emotional depth through layers of tone and colour.
As parents, what we witness is not only an improvement in technical skills, but also a deep accumulation of musical understanding. Dorayme is not merely about preparing children for piano exams; more importantly, it nurtures musical appreciation and a genuine love for music. Here, our child has learned to listen to the breathing of musical phrases, to understand the dialogue between different instruments, and to respect the composer’s intentions and historical context. We have seen a beautiful transformation—from practising the piano as a daily “task” to making an emotional investment in music, from simple imitation to personal expression. This change is both heartening and deeply moving.
True to her name, Aunty Christy is like a caring aunt—attentive to our child and genuinely concerned for our family. She reaches out when our child feels discouraged, offers affirmation and encouragement promptly after results are announced, and patiently answers every question, helping us understand teaching goals, course design, and our child’s stage of development. She treats us as family, not merely as parents and students. At every event and recital, we feel this sincere care, as if we are part of a big family witnessing our child’s growth together.
During our time at Dorayme, our child has learned not only how to play pieces, but also how to approach music: listening actively, practising with focus, exploring with curiosity, and sharing with joy. After each practice session, he eagerly plays newly learned pieces for the family. Even a short phrase is filled with confidence and happiness. This heartfelt love for music is the greatest gift that Dorayme and Aunty Christy have given us.
Looking back on this journey, we are deeply grateful for Dorayme’s professionalism and warmth. We thank Aunty Christy for her patience, inclusiveness, and expertise, and for creating an environment that feels like home. This is no longer a simple teacher–student relationship, but a trusting partnership and a family walking side by side. Wherever our child’s musical path may lead in the future, we will carry with us our gratitude to Dorayme and to Aunty Christy, continuing to listen to music and discover beauty in life.
