Rebecca Leung

Rebecca was originally from Hong Kong and a holder of the DipABRSM in Piano Teaching, she began learning piano at the age of three and has nurtured a lifelong passion for music ever since. Her journey as a piano educator began as a freelance private teacher alongside a full-time career in the marketplace.

In 2015, Rebecca relocated to New Zealand with her husband and their first child. After welcoming her younger son in 2016, she resumed teaching piano and has since continued to share her love for music with students of all ages and backgrounds.

She is currently teaching piano as an itinerant piano tutor at two local schools in Christchurch, as well as teaching at her Dorayme home-studio. Her students range from young beginners as young as four to adult learners, each with unique goals and learning styles.

With over a decade of teaching experience, she tailor each lesson to the individual student, designing personalized lesson plans that reflect their pace, interests, and musical journey. Rebecca strongly believes in fostering a love for music while building a solid technical and expressive foundation.

Rebecca’s teaching philosophy centres on nurturing musical growth in a positive and encouraging environment, where students feel motivated and supported. She aims not only to teach piano skills but also to inspire a lifelong appreciation for music and empower students to use music as a form of self-expression.
